Dr. Lawson grew up primarily in California, but also lived in Venezuela and Malaysia as part of his father’s job. He joined the active-duty Air Force in 2003 as a security forces member, deploying twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq. It was during emergency field medicine training that he discovered he enjoyed learning how to help instead of fight. After he left active-duty, he went into nursing school and worked in pharmacy. Tiring of the nursing model after a couple years, he studied with the intent of eventually attending medical school.
Working in pharmacy caused him to be disenchanted with the realities of providing sick care that often did not get people better in the long-term. It was then he eventually discovered chiropractic through his daughter. She was experiencing unusual spine pain at a young age and took her to a chiropractor. After taking care of her pain and getting her back to playing soccer, he immediately applied for and attended Parker University.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Lawson enjoys trying new restaurants, playing video games, and hiking.
He has three Bachelor’s of Science degrees, a Master’s of Science degree and a Doctorate. Additionally, he is certified in functional medicine by the University of Functional Medicine.
